How many years have you been in this business?
I have been in property management for over 20 years. All of it with Cadillac Fairview
Why did you join BOMA?
Joining BOMA was next on my list of professional involvement. It was a current BOMA board member that told me so, and I am glad that she did. The new connections I’ve made are very valuable.
What's one thing - either industry-related or not - you learned in the last month?
Great collaboration with people that you work with is vital. Collaboration makes for strong and resilient teams
What educational or business experiences best prepared you for your career?
The education experience that got me where I am today is a bachelor’s degree in business, along with a professional accounting designation.
Working in a large corporate head office has prepared me well to the challenges of property management at Cadillac Fairview.
What advice would you give to professionals coming in to the commercial industry?
Property management is an ever changing and evolving field of work, so be ready to adapt to change and embrace it.
If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be and why?
Start in property management sooner. There are so many opportunities in property management. The earlier that you get into it, the more you will be able to achieve.
What's your favourite movie and why?
Favorite movie would be any of the James Bond films.
If you could have dinner with someone famous (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
Dinner with Nelson Mandela would be on the top of my list. He was a remarkable man and through his actions and convictions he changed an entire country and inspired many others to do good
How do you define success?
My definition of success is the satisfaction in work well done and recognition by peers
