How many years have you been in this business?
This is my 16th year in the business.
Why did you join BOMA?
I joined BOMA to take advantage of lunch and learns and to participate in the networking events to expand my network and knowledge in the business maritime business community.
What's one thing - either industry-related or not - you learned in the last month?
The importance of showing up, and committing to a job well done. This applies to any industry and I believe it is important for every role.
What educational or business experiences best prepared you for your career?
In business, I learned that you win some and you lose some.
What advice would you give to professionals coming in to the commercial industry?
Jump right in and surround yourself with great people, network and never stop learning.
If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be and why?
Hard work and dedication will always pay off in the end.
What's your favourite movie and why?
Winnie the Pooh, because each character taught me a different skill. Tigger taught me to be patient, and Eeyore taught me to be kind.
If you could have dinner with someone famous (dead or alive) who would it be and why?
Queen Elizabeth, definitely. She has always been such an interesting person to me and I would enjoy having supper with her.
How do you define success?
I define success through one key phrase, how can I be the best parent and husband?
